Killer Calendars in SharePoint: Change Views with No Page Refresh

Christophe HumbertChristophe Humbert is refining the solutions he will provide in next week’s “Killer Calendars in SharePoint“, live online workshop. The screencast below is the first in a series of screencasts to show you the solutions provided as part of the workshop.

In this 2 minute demo, we show a tweak to the SharePoint calendar interface that allows users to switch between week and month views without reloading the page. Everything shown in the demo is contained within Content Editor Web Parts (CEWP) and can be done with Site Manager permissions.

Download the screencast: Killer Calendars Demo
File Size: 2.7 megs

Participants in the live online workshop will receive all of the web parts needed to run the solutions on their own site, their own SharePoint sandbox to test out the solutions and will have access to a Q&A forum on Stump the Panel with Christophe as moderator.

We look forward to seeing you there: Killer Calendars in SharePoint

  1. 1. Thanks for all of the shared resources- pointed at all of the scriptors and programers creating neat calculated colums to a cool functional effect/s and all else.

    2. My co-worker and I figured out how to modify the code to make the colored backgroud and or text in the calendar view, so that you can put any color of text against any color background, this way if the template being used does not render good, you can make the text a lighter ot darker color or if you use organizational colors (Military folks).

The original calculate colunm is from Chris at the Path t oSharePoint site.

I called the calculated colum COMBINED, as I did the text only and then he backgroundf and then messed with until worked.

    If this helps any one…

I cant find the stump the panel…

    I have a qestion:
In one of my web parts I am pulling a lookup column from an image library, all works well.

Problem: the text in the web part is a displayed as a link back to the images_ GOOD, but the web part is size and I need the link type text to be formated to word wrap.
What happens is the images text links cause the web part to grow in width.
I want them to wrap…no problem wth the web part having a scroll bar for the height which we have set…
we know that can be done in the default or in a script modifing the CSS hidden in a CEWP.

But we can not find the way to cause the lookup image links (text) to word wrap based on a set width of hte web part.

If possible I would like to be able to have the user scrol over the image text links and they open in a pop up , with out having to right click and open in new window, as t onot leave the web parted page…as it is a briefing Quad Chart so to speak.

can anyone help and be specific.

    thanks
    Scott
