Enhance SharePoint Gantt Views

Christophe Humber from Path to SharePoint continues to work on SharePoint interface enhancements. In next week’s live online workshop, SharePoint Charts and Graphs Part 03, he’ll deconstruct Gantt Views and enhance them with color coding and sliders.

The three solutions he provides in the workshop are critical pieces missing from the default Gantt Views: the ability to expand and contract the time lines, and color coding of tasks. The screenshots below give you an idea of the final output. Click each one to view a live demo where you can try out the sliders.

You are master of Gantt view.

Thank you so much, it was very helpful in my task.

Can you make the default view of the chart to be the current month versus the first start date? For example, if a project on the list has a start date of 6/2008, I don’t want to have to see that month when I come to the page and have to scroll all the way to the current month. I’d like the slide bar to be at the current month.
