EndUserSharePoint2010.com: New Site for SharePoint 2010

Mark Miller, Founder and Editor, EndUserSharePoint.comSince SharePoint Conference 2009 in October, I have been receiving a lot of articles from authors of 2010 material. So much in fact, I’ve created a new site just for that material: EndUserSharePoint2010.com.

The purpose of EUSP2010 is to make sure this site, EndUserSharePoint.com, doesn’t get diluted with content that isn’t relevant to many readers. We will continue to provide content for WSS and MOSS users here, on the original site. The Stump the Panel: SharePoint Q&A Forums will also remain for WSS and MOSS.

From this point on, all 2010 material will reside on the new site. I hope you find it useful.

The first articles are from some of the presenters at SharePoint 2010 Evolutions Conference in London. Later this week we’ll start to rollout more material from our contributing authors who have been playing around with 2010 to see what it’s all about.

    Thank you Mark.

SharePoint 2010 is exciting to read about but I have a feeling that most end-users won’t see it on their desks for a while.

I am a soon-to-be SP 2007 user but I am still looking for solid WSS solutions. I have found that I am skipping most SP 2010 posts (and even blogs devoted solely to it) for lack of relevance, as you say.

  2. I think the uptake of 2010 will be more rapid than that of 2007. There have been some big improvements in the usability of this version and so will feel more familiar to users of MS products.

Of course, the need for 64bit architecture will delay many upgrades but I still think companies will go for it quite quickly. We have had good interest in upgrading and early adoption this time around.

I try to catch any comparison articles that come my way, I want to know what to expect when the time comes. Will there be an RSS feed perhaps from the 2010 site to the EUSP home page so we can track what is new over there? I’d love to at least see article titles so I can catch the subject matter that interests me.

Thanks for your work on all of this Mark!

    Thanks Mark!!

I look forward with a mix of anticipation and trepidation to 2010 – excited over new functionality, but terror over converting all my “no-code” presentation layer CEWPs to 2010.

I look forward to relying on these sites to help pave the way!

Nice compromise. There will inevitably be some crossover, but I’m glad to see you’ve found a way to make the coming evolution work for you.

    Hi Mark,

we currently have a Sharepoint 2007 site, this site has almost 40 subsites, each subsite belongs to a particular program. All these programs have similar attributes only the data changes. Each of the program has its own document library, announcements, lists etc apart from few custom webparts.

The problem comes during maintainance, whenever we have a new webpart to be deployed it becomes a pain, we need to go to all the 40 sites and configure it.

we want to avoid this and create a site which changes its attributed depending on the program ID passed, yet still have unique document libraries for the programs. How can i do this in Sharepoint 2010? actualy what we are looking at is something that currently happens in my site, where each user has his/her own shared documents and other sharepoint webparts but yet its all under one site.

    Please advice.

    Thanks,
    Vidya
